How are trying to update your current IP to the DNS? Have you configured your router for dyndns update or using a windows updater? Sometimes frequent updates (like restarting the router again n again) blocks your host name. Check you host name status.

Are you trying to ping your dyndns.org address from inside your LAN? Which router are you using??

we can not ping to name at all. i can see my adsl IP address is taken by name but we can not ping the name and also can not check the port 9100 open for that dns name.

can you please advise  is there any setting to be done in dyndns to get my ADSL IP mapped to host name ASAP

My ADSL IP address is not changing as long as I don't restart the modem. So what I'm doing is http://www.dyndns.com/
