You should factory reset both the controller and receiver. The once the receiver has settled on the slower red blinking you can start the setup from the controller. I think the first thing it asks is language. Then like the 3rd or 4th step it will want you to select the player and present a list of players (probably will list just 1 if that's all you have). The receiver will be listed by a partial of its MAC address. Select your player and the controller just give the player the info you entered on the controller about your network so that the player can connect to your network.
