Using "Look for new and changed media files", it doesn't remove albums/tracks that have been deleted. My LMS contained a lot of duplicates which took me several months to eradicate. "Clear Library" was just easier, and there was never any reason to change this until I started using Squeeze Commander. The actual Logitech Controller showed somewhat related behaviour. After a "Clear Library", if I'd left the controller showing Albums or Artists, then I had problems until I'd gone back to the Home display.
