I believe DS218 play is still good NAS and there are other advantages or getting Raspberry Pi.. You can buy Dac hat for RPi and essentially gain another squeezebox player.. (alongside LMS). At low cost it could exceed your duet quality.. Or even you could install smth like Osmc and have entertainment system for your tv.. On top of lms and player. (I personally would not have all 3 things on one device but it is possible )
I'm my case lms on RPi would mean another network switch so I prefer keep it on NAS in docker.. But there is not right wrong..
