There is no other way to configure a Receiver. When I was using my Duet I seemed to spend a lot of time resetting everything when it stopped working. Maybe it wasn't always necessary but I was new to Squeezebox and panicked. Thinking back now it was in the days before I reserved an IP address for the server and the server wasn't on 24/7 so the IP address was probably changing.
