Hi Bernd,

Thanks for your reply. Reformulating everything sounds like setting up a
completely new model. Currently, I am lacking the time to do this.

Kind regards
Georg

Betreff: Re: [DuMuX] Outflow boundary condition for a phase saturation?

Hi Georg,

this is not easily possible. The balance equations are formulated with respect
to component masses. Setting an outflow condition means to not constrain the
component to flow out, no matter in which phase. One would have to reformulate
everything in terms of phase masses (plus remaining equations for component
masses), but that has to be well-thought-out.

Kind regards
Bernd

Dear DumuX users,

Is it possible to set an outflow boundary condition for a phase saturation? I
want to use this type of condition in the mpnc model. In my setup, at some
point liquid phase is formed in the model domain and transported towards the
outlet. I do not want to constrain the saturation here by setting it to a fixed
value but rather let liquid phase flow out as it wants. Has this ever been
tried? Is it possible at all?

Thanks for your help and kind regards
