Hi Timo, When I say boxes I mean actual physical computers, not virtual machines. The archlinux box is a 4 core Lenonvo Thinkcentre with no fancy graphics card, while the Ubuntu 16.04 box is a Lenovo ThinkStation with dual monitors and fancy GPU nvidia video cards.
I have not yet tried to open the docker container dumux/release-2.12 in a virtual box, but I can also do that test as well. I suppose it is because paraview wants to access the video card directly and this is different on different boxes.
