Hi Dmitry,
your use case is unfortunately not foreseen by the loadSolution mechanism. Currently, one has to have the exact same number of processes for the run that produces the files and for the one that loads them. I would guess that the easiest way would be to use the Python bindings of VTK to convert your pvtu file and process-individual vtu files into one sequential vtu file. But that's just a guess, I have not looked into it. Hello, I am trying to load a .pvtu file into SolutionVector (for analysis, not for restart). The .pvtu contains references to multiple .vtu pieces created by different MPI nodes. I would like to analyze the solution on a single node in a separate program, is that possible? loadSolution() fails with the message "Couldn't get 'PointData' or 'CellData' node". Indeed, my .pvtu does not have them but has PPointData and PCellData instead. The .pvtu file is attached. It was of course produced by DuMux. Is it not supported for loading? But I see in the docs for loadSolution that it "Supports the following file extensions: *.vtu *.vtp *.pvtu, *.pvtp". Best regards, Dmitry
