I doubt it can be done, but give it a whirl! (It'll involve serious
modifications, though.) The main reason that the 2300 is slower than a 1400
with a very slightly faster processor is, as I understand, because the 2300
lacks level 2 cache.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Things that I wish could be done to upgrade a 2300 (in no particular order):

1.)PCMCIA cards (through a desktop reader, for example)
2.)Level-2 Cache
3.)G3
4.)Ethernet plug instead of Modem
5.)Espresso maker instead of serial port
