Just got off the phone with the Apple folks ref the trade-in, as I have an old PB190. I need a desktop instead of the PB2000 format (oh, Apple....PLEASE come out with a sub-notebook!!!!) and wanted to know if there were any alternatives to the current offer. After holding for 45 minutes, the answer came back as "No." The person I spoke with did say that this did NOT cancel the warranty deal (don't think they could legally cancel it even if they wanted to!!), they just wanted to get the 190/5300's off the street. She (Jennifer at Apple Tech Support) checked with their marketing contact to get the straight skinnny. Oh, well. Anyone need a PB2000 and want to buy a basic PB190 to get the $700 deal?
