That's been interesting me for years.
But, as far as I know, it's impossible to use Canon printers through IR
unless appropriate drivers, and I guess Canon will never make them.

I heard Canon BJ-80v(Japanese model) can be used with 2400+USB card.
So, USB would be the choice.
But, remember Canon seems not to support their printer + Powerbook with
USB card.
