if you were sending her off with the 280, my suggestion would be to get a
dock! even if JUST to lock the laptop in it...much harder to steal something
that is 3 times the size and weight of the trusty 280....these docks come
with keys usually, and therefore you can lock it...and you can fasten a
kesington lock to the dock...so that would be MY suggestion....I am quite
certain that the 170 did have a slot for security.....the other option would
be to get one of those lockable fireproof safes.....they are HEAVY and
discourage a bit of theft....the other clever way to disguise the laptops is
to put the unit and it's carrying case in a beach cooler! yeah, who would
suspect that you have a laptop in a COOLER? I've read that somewhere and it
works for ME!
