To Douglas below- The point of having OS 9 with OS X is that the "Classic app" (Mac OS compatibility layer) *will not run* without OS 9 installed. If all you want to do with your new buzzword compliant Unix-based OS X is surf the web and send email, you'll be fine... If you want to use *any* of your current Mac OS software, you'll have to have 9 installed. 8.6 won't work- I've seen OS X try to load a Mac app and crap out when it found 8.6.... (snip) They didn't go into detail, but just said something like, "believe me, you don't want to do it if you don't have 9." > Of course Apple would say we should all buy OS9 before we buy OSX.
