I just received my trusty 2400 back from MCE this afternoon. Their ever helpful Kevin Yuhas arranged for a sameday installation of the IBM 30 gb HD to replace my anemic 1.3 gb HD. The IBM 30 gb is noticeably quieter and faster. It formats out at 27.9 gb which will take me *quite* a while to feel cramped in. The 30 gb runs $550 while the 20 gb is $400. Both are IBM OEMs with three year warranties. Installation with overnight FedEx return is $100. MCE provides great service from great people that know 2400s. They will be the first to steer you elsewhere if you need something they aren't comfortable with. When my motherboard went south earlier this year, MCE recommended DT&T in Fremont which made the component swap overnight. I shudder to think how long Apple would have taken to do that. You might be able to find this drive for $50 cheaper elsewhere, but you won't be dealing with such quality people as MCE. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
