Hi. I bought a used 280 a couple of years ago. Worked fine except when
completely undocked, USUALLY the n, c, and left arrow keys are completely
non-functional. With a dock connected, the internal (and external,
if connected) work fine. This is with a Newer Ultradock. When in an
Apple DuoDock I obviously don't use the internal keyboard, but sure
enough the external ones work fine. After playing with the tightness of
the keyboard screws and the seating of the cables for a long time, I
bought a new type F keyboard. Exactly the same symptoms with it. So I
recently bought a new duo 280 motherboard, and put it in last night. STILL
the same symptoms. Now I'm really confused - the only original
electronics in it are the screen, the modem and the hard drive (I changed
the RAM right after buying the duo). I really can't see any of them
being the problem, but... what else ?! Does this ring a bell for anyone ?

Thanks,

Scott Mitchell
