The delay can be seen on desktop macs too. Whenever I wake my g3-upgraded 
clone up from it's sleep there's a small freezeup before I can actually 
do anything, it has more to do with the hard drive spinning up than 
anything. Then there's another freezeup if I try and access anything on 
the second hard drive. So it's nothing to be afraid of, I'm sure your 
computer is working just fine.
