Fellow listers-
In recovering from a green light of death, I think I blew the fuse.
Battery is not recognized- ever. Charges fine in another machine. My 2400
won't recognize another good battery, either. I've tried special programs
to reset the power manager and used every bit of reset voodoo I've ever
heard of.
Two questions. Do I need to do any more on the software side? Clean
install? And two, what is the nature of this fuse? I've been a little
ways inside this computer but not that far. Is it solder and replace a
part that is somewhat available? I assume it is no snap-in fuse, right?
DT&T is local, and I was pleased with their work in fixing the grey
screen start-up. $295 was much cheaper and it was very quickly done. So I
got that resource available, but maybe I'll do it myself, depending what
you lista's say. I have take-apart instructions and am, when all is said
and done a hobbyist...
Stock machine, except for the 80MB RAM. SF Bay Area.
So, whaddya think?
Thanks for your help
-Mark
