There are several of the Duos I bought that will only boot when it the Dock.
A 230, a 250, and a 280c. They refuse to do anything when I plug in an AC
adapter and attempt to boot. I've tried with and without the battery in
them. Nor will they boot from the battery alone.

I have Zapped the PRAM (while docked) and reset the power manager on each of
them. I even swapped out the modem on the 280c (which doubles as the power
button) but get the same results.

They all have good PRAM batteries (they appear to be holding their dates
when not plugged it) and I use a battery that I know to be good.

Any ideas as to why???

Thanks,

-makmac

BTW, there are also several good machines which, after I've gone through all
of them, I will be posting for sale on the list in the next couple days.

I did manage to put a good 280c screen of the 2300c that I got. It works
beautifully. The battery sucks though. Stay tuned!
