This would explain the odd behavior of the tech at the service shop who repaired my 2400 -- after giving my machine back, he came out from behind the counter, rode the elevator 5 floors down to street level trying to buy my "broken" motherboard from me. It seemed odd, but I also had no use for it, I thought. He gave me the yen equivalent of $50 for it. He said he wanted the broken one for testing; I'm assuming now that he didn't want me discovering on my own somehow that the MB was really okay! Tim Selander Tokyo, Japan > 3.
