So, it's working fine with a PowerPC and 8.5... Hmmmmm. Marc sent me a link
to an Asante archive for the EN/SC driver. I think there is some confusion
regarding version number, because after retrieving the archive, I've just
realized that it had the same name than the other one I already downloaded
and installed.
So, Marc, I would guess that the exact version of the Asant EN/SC
extension, in your system folder, is 6.0.4. That's a bit confusing, since
the archive is named 5.6.1...
Anyway, I'm more and more positive that my problem is indeed with the
driver/SCSI bus. I kept the computer with AppleTalk on LocalTalk, switching
to AppleTalk on "Alternate Ethernet" only when needed, and I hadn't had a
single freeze in 2 days now. Or maybe there is a problem between that driver
and 8.1?
Well, I will have to think about it. It's kinda annoying to have to switch
it to LocalTalk to avoid freezes...
Thanks all for your input!
-Laurent.
