>OK, now, I don't know what you can expect from a Type III or IV battery, but >my BTI battery gives me about 1 hour (estimated from the Apple's control >strip). I'm getting pretty much the same estimate for my other brand new >Type III battery. On my Duo 2300c 40/2gig, I have a BTI Type IV battery that runs it for about 1 to 1.5 hours at best, and an Apple Type III battery that runs my Duo for about 1.5 to 2 hours. I've havn't been a fan of the Type IV battery from BTI since I got one that didn't fit properly (and they woudn't replace) and I had to shave down the edges for it to fit. The other problem with the BTI Type IV, is that it reports itself to the system as a Type I. For me, this has led to bad battery life estimations and improper charging in the Duo dual charging base. In summary, I have had better luck with a good used Apple type III battery than I have with the BTI Type IV battery. P.S., I'm new to the Duo list, I'll send a greeting message soon. -- Peter Liethen - [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
