All, I own an upgraded Comet (MCE accomplished NuPowr G3/240, 80 MB RAM, 10GB, Cardbus upgrade) and am looking for a SCSI CD-RW that uses Apple's CD-ROM drivers from OS 9.0 in order for the Comet to "boot" from an OS CD. I have an old NEC 4x drive connected now through SCSI but NEC stopped updating Mac drivers in 1996 and nothing boots from the CD. I want SCSI because I haven't had luck getting ANY USB peripherals recognized (tried an Epson 1200U scanner, an IJAM MP3 player, and a Diamond Rio 500 MP3 player) through my MacAlly CardBus to USB adapter and I'm gun-shy about purchasing a USB or even a Firewire CD-RW for backing up data files. Also, has anyone had difficulty getting NuPowr's driver 1.0.3 to work, or even getting OS 9.04 to not crash? 9.04 downed my machine completely for an entire day until I could re-build 9.0, hard to do from that NEC drive that didn't boot the CD.
