I use an old Smart and Friendly 4x CDR drive with
Toast 3.45 and can boot from it. Sure it is slow, but
it works every time. I find it hard to compare USB and
SCSI. I'm running an iMac with a USB Zip drive and the
2400 with a SCSI Zip dirve. The SCSI is at least four
times faster. USB is good for keyboards, and
joysticks, but I will not buy any more media with USB.

I still like my 2400 after almost four years of brutal
usage. Even today I still get PC people who are
impresss with it.
