Sydney and listers,
I have lubed the keys of three Duo keyboards and also of one PB 3400c using
SILICONE CAULK. It does work very well. I have actually done it. It will have no
affect
on the electrical integrity of the key contacts, but it will make the keys move
smoothly
without binding andstickingBefore finding this idea, I experimented with Armour All
which made the problem worse. Also, WD-40 made it worse as well as did two different
brands of Silicone Spray lube.
The silicone caulk method will NOT work if you don't thoroughly wipe it off after
applying it. Although, you can still remove any excess later and redo any or all
keys if you did it wrong initially.
I am speaking from experience, not from assumptions.
