I burned out a dock power supply, apparently by running two monitors off the external power outlet on the back. That outlet is part of the supply circuitry and has an upper limit listed of 3 amps. After mine gave out, a few other users of Docks said that they never run their monitors off the switched outlet on the back of the dock since they had heard that doing so could shorten the life of the power supply.
