I visited my son's new school. They had a very nice lab of Macintoshes
only, in addition to the 4 to 6 computers in each classes, most of those
in classes were iMacs.
After talking to the person in charge, she sadly told me that the
Fairfax County Public Schools administration decided that they would all
replace those computers for Windows-base ones. My daughter's school has
already converted most of their Macs to dumb PCs. I went there last year
and the year before to help with the computers, installing network
cards, among other things, but this year, almost all computers are
Windozzzz machine. Very depressing, if you ask me. The domination looks
like spreading to Apple's traditional markets. Very sad...
I guess Apple's last decision to handle the school market themselves is
not going to help...
