Every Duo Dock has a 'Decliration ROM' that tells a Duo power manager
what to use, how to use use it, what to turn off, what to reroute, if
a Duo can be docked in sleep, etc.

In a Duo Dock, ther ROM says not to use the LCD display on the Duo.
It also says other things, like turn off the Duo internal speaker and
use the dock speaker.
