Mad Dog is right.  If memory serves me correctly (rare, but it does happen) 
there are other circuits involved.  ADB is tied in somehow, to monitor 
current and check S/N of batteries, etc., as well as updating certain 
charging stations (remember the recent thread helping Laurent out on the 
charging base?? How do you think data gets to the charger base to update the 
eerom?).  I'll take a gander at the circuits tonight and let you know what I 
find.
