Gang! I wanted to let you know that I did receive a new motherboard today. I just swapped the fried one for this one, connected the screen, trackball and the power adapter, and it started all alone, like a big boy! So, technically, everything is working! It however has the case stiffener from my 2300c, which had a broken tab on the back, on the modem side, so I can't put back the retracting foot on this side (Mark, any news from the case stiffener??? ;-) I'm also lacking a bit of memory. I did try my previous 20MB expansion card and it is really flakey as the slightlest shock will freeze the computer. Anyway, I'm waiting for a 36MB for my 2300c and I did pick up a 20MB from the same guy. I also have Greg who did volunteer to look at the faulty card, as I couldn't see anything wrong with it. However, in addition to the case stiffener, it seems I lost the little foam that goes between the heat sink and the processor. I hope Mark will still have it. I will also have to replace the display top housing, but this part, I have, he he! The last thing I'd like to know is how, if at all possible, you do remove the little switch that make the computer sleeps when you close the display?
