Doh! I was thinking of the switch actuator. The switch itself fits in a hole drilled through the stiffener. On both my Duos it slips out quite easily; maybe someone added glue to yours at one time, or it's a substitute part with a larger diameter stem. If the stiffener is damaged, can you remove it and poke through the hole from the bottom? The mounting hole goes all the way through on the stiffeners I've seen.
