I have a 2400, 3400, and a G3 Wallstreet (SCSI). The G3 is a
great substitute for a desktop machine, easier on the eyes,
etc. But it is really heavy. What also is good about the
machine are the two batteries, CD module and zip module. You
can switch between work and home machines real easily. BUT,
if you want to take notes at a meeting, the 2400 is
inconspicuous to carry, easy on the lap, and light. It is
practically a go-anywhere machine.
I recently had to have the 2400's clicker replaced ($104
incl labor). I only read about one other person on the list
having this problem. It became gradually more and difficult
to use. Before I replaced it I began to appreciate how much
using the touch pad by tapping was easier on the hands than
clicking. (But inadvertent touches were a problem when
taking notes.)
I'm not ready to say goodbye to the 2400. It's too handy.
