I guess I'm in the dissenting fraction of a percent.... Yes, the sense of community makes the list fun and attractive. My technical need for the list is waning, but it is still fun to read the list. Frankly, Dallas' irritation was somewhat difficult to understand - I had to research past list to figure out what he was talking about. Testing? Tour?. I believe that I've offered support for a list member planning to visit Mexico. Sure would be interesting to meet brandy or at least be able to have a tech resource when visiting Oz/Aus/LDU. Glad to see Brandy's back in the fold - was beginning to wonder that she had drifted off to some other platform without a farewell. In sum, I think it is good that a personal exchange can be threaded through our daily concerns about batteries, the light of death, G3 upgrade death, etc. Otherwise I would read Apple's discussion groujps for fun. I suspect that we will all eventually move on to other machines. Such machines may be the next Apple subnotebook offering, so I suspect that this list will survive even when the duos and 2400 are hopelessly obsolete. Anyone boot their old 512k mac lately? Be nice now, as the list may be a valuable resource worth participating in in years to come. BTW, (to keep the tech content/on topic purists happy) the reason for which I started with the list seems to be resolved. I believe that the global village toobox used for GV56kflex external modems not only incompatible with the GV internal modem software, but also with the GV internal modem hardware. My throughput problems dissappeared when using a Supra 33.6 external or after removal of the internal. Will report if this happens with the apple express internal. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
