This is what I have determined thus far in all my trial and error attempting
to get my Sony PC 1, mini DV camcorder to interact with my upgraded, cardbus
enabled pb 2400's (which I dearly love, thank you very much for the upgrades):

A/ 400mhz/112ram/10gig/9.0.4 Mac OS/RATOC firewire/Sony PC 1/IMovie 1/2
B/ 320mhz/80ram/6gig/9.0.4 Mac OS/RATOC firewire/Sony PC 1/IMovie 1/2

With both pb 2400's I can send material to the computers from the PC 1, with
the ability to control the camera from the computer software; edit the
material; play it back on the computer; export it to Quicktime format and
post to the web.

However, I cannot export any material, edited or otherwise, back to the
camera from either pb 2400 with out severe distortion in both audio and
video. I am adamant about having the ability to export back to the camera so
that I can then make analog VHS copies of edited DV movies for my mother and
friends who are not computer literate, but can operate a VCR.

I took my Sony PC 1 over to my neighbor's and hooked it via his firwire cable
to his Sony desktop/software and it worked like a charm both in the DV in and
out modes so I am convinced that the camera is o.k.

Since I am having the same problems on both of my pb 2400's I am wondering
now if it could possibly be a defective RATOC PCMCIA card, at least in the
play back to the camera function.

Therefore, could you ship me another RATOC card, charge my VISA, and if the
current one is defective, credit me with the cost when you receive and
confirm that it is not working properly.

What do you think as I am at my wit's end here and am ready to buy a new iMac
SE DV to solve my hardware/software problems unless we can sort this out, and
if we do, then I will buy a bigger hard drive from you for the pb 2400/400mhz?

By the way, I have run TechTooPro version 3 with optimization on my 2400 so
that it is totally defragged to eliminate that problem, not to mention,
paring down to the minimum of extensions, running Conflict Catcher, Disk
Warrior, etc.

Please respond ASAP as I will buy me an iMac DV SE if I don't hear from you.
