I have four wonderful Macs and I want to network them. I used to do this with a printer cable over Local Talk, but that wasn't too flexable as they had to be right beside each other.... To work with I have: -iMac DV SE 500/56.6/sys 9.04 -Duo 230 w/14.4/sys 7.5.1 (no Dock) -Mac Classic/2400/sys 7.1 or 7.5 -Quadra 630 AV/28.8/sys 7.6.1 (no ethernet) -Epson 740 USB/serial -LaserWriter Select 360 -Farallon Phonet Adapter (1), with lots of phone cord. -I also have two phone lines What I basically want to do is have the Macs talk to each other and be able to print off both printers. I was wondering if the Espon could be used as a bridge between the iMac and the pre USB Macs if the iMac was connected via USB and the pre USB Macs via serial to create a LocalTalk AppleTalk network... If not could the modems talk to each other with regular phone line without an outside connection? My final plead appears to be remote access via AppleShare IP. However as far as I know, AppleShare IP first appered with system 7.6.1, so only the Quadra and the iMac have that option. Thanks Dylan ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
