I wonder if anyone can give me some suggestions

My 2400 upgraded to G3320Mhz/80mb/10gb/cardbus apears to have gone into a
coma.

Out of the blue it didnt wake from sleep. The light wasnt even flashing. I
dont know why but occasionally I have shut the lid and it doesn't go to
sleep (location manager message on screen waiting for answer) and the
battery drains. could be this. (didn't have any cardbus cards in)

Hooking it up to the mains didn't help. Absolutly no response to startup
key, pressed reset key at back and heard the speaker click. Nothing else.

So left it without battery and AC cord for a while and tried again with
battery out. It started up and froze at various points, once with error type
10, but did fully boot sucsesfully once.

I restarted a few times and cleard the PRAM things seemed fine. I then put
it to sleep to plug the mouse in.

The green light went clean out and I was back to square one. Wouldnt wake
up. Went through the same things, leaving it overnight without AC cord or
Batt. But this time I have only got as far as the happy face a couple of
times out of many tries.

It seems to have more chance of getting to the chime and the screen lighting
up if it has been left disconnected for a few hours, but then I have also
had a few semi start ups while just pushing the startup key repeatedly. Most
of the time I just hear a faint click from the speaker when pushing the
startup key or the reset key.

I kindof feel that if it started up and I didnt use the sleep option, just
shutting down instead it would probably be ok. But I am obviously unable to
confirm this.

I am aware of the whole GLOD thing relating to this computer, could this be
related and/or be something to do with the powermanager? I held the reset
button in for over 1 min several times with no improvement.

Could it be a PRAM Batt issue?

Is there anything else I can try. (obviously wont start from another source
disk as won't even boot) I have never taken it apart but I have done so with
Duos and am aware of the extreme complexity of it. I would be willing to
have a go if there was a chance of improving things.

A related question is wether anyone on the group lives in the UK (as I now
do) and has had a 2400 serviced here? or is fedex to MCE the only choice?

What use is a backup if your machine is dead?

Help!!
