To use the modem for data (including FreePPP), you only need:

Global Village Toolbox (v2.5.5) in your Extensions folder
Powerport for Duo & 500 series (v2.5.5) in your Control Panels folder

To use the modem with a Communications Toolbox app like Clarisworks, you
might also want (but don't strictly need, the Apple Modem Tool works):

PowerPort Tool for 500 & Duo (v2.5.5) in your Extensions folder

To use Open Transport PPP and/or Apple Remote Access, you'll need a
modem script that supports the modem. There are a variety of them for
GV modems that will work, but one that ought to be ok is:

GV High Speed for ARA 2.0 (v1.4) in your Extensions folder or Modem Scripts
folder (depending on the Remote Access version).

To send faxes, you'll also need:

GlobalFax (v2.5.5M) in your Extensions folder

And to receive faxes you'll need:

Fax Centre (v2.5.5) somewhere on your hard disk.

The fax stuff should also create a GlobalFax Files folder in your
System Folder, with subfolders named Cover Sheets, Received Faxes,
and Spooled Faxes. There are also four cover sheet files (PICT
stationary) that come with the GV software, but you don't actually
need them (any PICT file you create will do if you want a cover
sheet).

Finally, if you want to print to fax and you're running Quickdraw GX
(which is unlikely), you'll need:

GlobalFax GX (v2.5.5GX) instead of GlobalFax in your Extensions folder

If you're not using Quickdraw GX, you can toss this file.

All of the files are in the installer tome that comes with the 2.5.5
update installer (except possibly the modem script, which comes with
ARA or Open Transport).
