yeah, there's several fairly decent battery software stuuf, out there
to help us ' vintage ' duo & powerbook users..

Apple has some...in fact, it might be on their software site..

another good one is Jeremy Kezer's BATTERY AMNESIA 1.5.2

which does a good job in returning 'dead' or dying batteries
to life...

this is off the top of me balding head...

hey, any 270 c users out there ? I'm thinking of pulling the 270c motherboard
out, and replacing it with a 280c, that I was given...DOES anyone on this GREAT
list know if you can upgrade a 270c to a 2300 power pc duo ? I know that the
280c can accept a 2300 MB, no problem...and the 270c..is basically the same
duo..only it's a 68030 with FPU, where the 280c is a FPU less 68040..

other than that, I dig my 270c...a lot cooler than my old powerbook 100, (a
dog)
and my PB 165c, which I recently pulled outta the closet, and gave it to my
niece...The 165c, had a crappy passive matrix screen, and weight almost
7 pounds....boy was it a slug to lug around....I've owned my 270c now
for about 5 years....and despite it being almost 8 yrs old, (33 mhz) it
still gets looks and turns heads...in my favorite watering hole, as I do
reports on it...

and using it at home with a duo dock 2, with a 21 'inch radius monitor,
really gets the job done.......

thanks everyone

Nick
