I don't know of a specific control panel or extension but I get a pop up
alarm when using the Palm Desktop software.
It's a great electronic Daytimer with appointment book, address/phone list,
todo list, and note pad. While I use mine with a Palm V it doesn't require a
Palm to function. Best of all it's a free download from Palm.com!
It's an application that you can launch to have access to everything and
when it's not running you have a small menu next to the clock to look up
contacts, make a new appointment, etc.
Basically you would make an appointment, lets say for your class (if it's
daily you can indicate it as such), and set an alarm for that appointment to
go off whenever you say (i.e. 10 minutes, 1 hour etc.). Then at the
specified time a little dialog box pops up and warns you of the appointment.
You can dismiss it or snooze it for whatever time you tell it.
And like I said, it's free!
