yup, even with just a 280c, you can surf the net...In fact,
I've surfed using a lowly powerbook 100...and a 14.4 modem.

My 270c, using a 56k , surfs quite well....basically, any
mac laptop, from the PB 100, up to the latest and greatest,
can surf...it depends how much ram you have, what version
of a browser...certain older macs, netscape 2.0.2 is the BEST
choice....I'm using 4.0.7 on my 270c....with nary a glitch and
free PPP....(2.0.6)   of course, you can also use i-cab, and
IE...as well depending on yer tastes..
