The place where I work currently uses a 50-50 mix of 3400's and 
5300's. The 3400 is a very capable machine which will take an 
impressive amount of abuse and keep ticking. The screens are very 
nice - plus the PC card support means you can use all kinds of things 
with it. The integrated ethernet and modem combo rock - but we have 
had a decent failure rate on the modems. All a nice machine - It 
would be much better if it was upgradeable. It's not the most 
attractive mac, but dependable and very competent.
