yes, I concur 100 % about the pros and cons of the beloved 2400 ' comet ' VS the new G4 Pb...I also feel the same way about the old duos.. i,e, the 270c, 280c, and the 2300...great little machines, especially when you stack 'em up against the 165c,180c, 190c,5300 series.. those were heavy powerbooks...I know, 'cuz I carried one in my briefcase for years...6.8 pounds....sheesh.... As for the comment about the SE/30....along with the ill fated colour classic, probably one of the BELOVED desktop 'classic' macs ever built....I still have mine..(original owner 1990) and now days, it's crammed with 80 megs of ram, a 1 gig hd, and when my power mac is down, it gathers email and surfs the net very well for me...which amazes my WINTEL friends to no end... the majority of all macs and powerbooks, are still useful for just about any thing you want to do...hell, even the lowly powerbook 100, can still do stuff like MS word, claris works, and grab email, and surf using the proper software..(Z-term etc) LONG after these machines went outta production...which sorta hurt Apple, as people held on to them longer than usual...instead of upgrading to a new machine,,which WINTEL people seem to do constantly..... One day, Apple will come out with a comet like G4..or maybe even g5.. until then, it's hard to knock and replace those 2400's... nick ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
