Hello, I've been off the list for about 8 months, so apologies if this question has been covered recently. I am moving to a new house and it will not be practical to run cat 5 cable for my DSL as I have done in the the current house, so I think it's time to go wireless. We have two PowerBooks, an MCE cardbus-enabled 2400 with the NewerTech G3 upgrade, and a Wallstreet. Is there a consensus on which 802.11 PC cards are best for Airport compatibility? Lucent and Farallon are the two choices I have uncovered, are there any others? Also, can someone point me to a FAQ or how-to on configuring these cards for use with Airport? I have PacBell/Earthlink DSL with an Alcatel modem and a Linksys router/hub...the Linksys handles earthlink's PPPoE connection chores, so the PowerBooks are simply set up for DHCP. Do any of these PC cards support Apple's encryption scheme for the Airport? thanks for any information, Brian Monroney ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
