I've always used "Essential PowerBook Strip" instead of the Battery Meter, HD Spin Down, and Sleep (old-school) Control Strips, as it not only does everything those CSM's do, but also give temperature readings, activity indicators (whether its charging, the HD is asleep, etc.), and its very accurate, although it gives a percentage instead of time.
