Gerald, if you can, try "rolling your own."  You'll need 10 x 4/5th's "A" 
cells for the Type III or 10 x  "AA" for the Type I.  I get the NimH cells 
from a variety of sources, try scanning for "rechargeable" and "battery" to 
see what's out there.  Make sure you get "tabbed" batteries, soldering 
directly to a cell is highly discouraged.  My 1600 mAh rebuilt TIII lasts 
about 1:45 now and the just rebuilt 2,700 mAh lasts 2:30 with normal use.
