I post this for the information base for my fellow listers. A couple of
weeks back I wrote about chronically going into an immediate GLOD every time
I disconnected my power plug while the 2400 was in sleep mode. Pushing on
the PM button for a few seconds would readily re-awaken the computer. Sleep
with AC connected resulted in the normal flashing green. Battery charging
was fine as were date/time.

Yesterday, after routinely getting another GLOD, I tried to re-awaken the
2400 without success. It took multiple PM resets in order to clear up the
GLOD (battery out/AC connected)--I started to get a little more concerned
that this was more serious. BUT, not to worry, this time after some 6-8
times, the GLOD and ALL other problems were also overcome. Now my 2400
functions normally again! Despite multiple PM resets, the PM must have
remained partially corrupted.

The moral of this story is that the PM can be wholly or partially corrupted
to any unknown degree, exhibit GLOD/NLOD or other symptoms--and there is no
rhyme or reason as to how, why and when. Only be patient and persistent. It
can take a long time or little time to revive the 2400. I would suggest that
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'s battery recharging on the "PB 2400 Battery Dead?" thread
should just keep removing/reinserting battery and work more on the PM. If
the AC is working, it's almost certain the battery will again be recognized
--I do not believe accidentally yanking on a (still good) AC cord will
impair the battery.
