I gave you outdated info on my previous message. I did use v1.7.3 to set up
my Toshiba drive (as well as the original 1.1GIG drive), however Apple's
drive setup is up to v2.0.3.
v1.7.3 should work so I am guessing you have a problem drive. Is it the
original?

Check out Computer Geeks. I bought my Toshiba drive there:
IBM 1.0.8GIG $29
<http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=205-9367>
Toshiba 6.4 GIG $113 (the one I bought)
<http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=205-6411>
I put the Toshiba in my 2300 but since the mounting holes didn't line up I
strapped the mounting brackets to the drive using zip-ties (wire ties). Do
laugh (too loud) it worked!
Plus you get a warranty.
