That would be a bad hard drive. Return it if you can. Drive setup
/System profiler / Norton should be able to see it. >>
I just went through a major hair-tearing session trying get my 840av to
recognize a drive...used all of the above. The answer came down to the fact
that I had created a ram disk the cpu saw as default startup. Reinstalling
the old drive and eliminating the ram disk (easy on OS8.1, more steps on
earlier OS's) solved the problem.
