hey all-- thanks for the help w/ the IDE drive issue for my 2300, and the offers for IDE drives when i enquired. It turns out i dont need any IDE drive, bc my 2 gig scsi, which i thought was going bad bc it wouldnt spin down (or was just annoying the hell outta me bc it wouldnt spin down, and using extra precious batt power) actually is fine. And has been the whole time ive had it. The thing was, in the PB CP, i had the settings at "never spin down HD" for both battery and A/C modes.... so the drive would never spin down, even when i tried to do it using the control module i have, LOL all i had to do was reset the power CP, and VOILA-- a fully working drive!!!! so it was only my past stupidity that was affecting the dirve! ~Alex Free email addresses helping endangered species every time you write http://www.purpleturtle.com ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
