Mike,

True....true.......

Mike,

But I think most people want to keep their lives
simple (i.e., one computer without transferring files
around). I do have my 2400c with the newer bookendz
attached to a monitor. I think 1280x1024 is best
relegated(sp?) to power users like yourself. I
basically use my powerbook for
internet surfing and research, web page design,
the usual slew of business and financial software,
and as my organizer. Basically, it's an overpriced
Palm!!! that can do the extra things I need it to. I
think the 800x600 is good enough. Plus on the
internet, anything bigger than 1024x768 gets pretty
small. Yes, the drive speed could be increased, but
the floppy is a moot point. I have yet to use my
floppy drive since I bought this machine. However,
let it be known that I do have a zip drive, so this
serves as my floppy.

Sorry for the bantering, but I thought I'd just give a
"real life" perspective in owning just a powerbook.

As a footnote, I do have Mac desktops too. My
daughter has a Performa 5215CD, and I still have my
7500/100 AV maxed out to the gills. I also have a
mini mac museum with over 12 powerbooks. But alas, I
only use the 2400c exclusively. So in summary, I
think the powerbooks these days can easily be used as
the only computer source.

Of course, the ideal powerbook would be any of the
Wallstreet, Lombard, Pismo, or Titanium for
performance and feature.

And there you have it.....another fanatic 2400c
user!!!!
