Those iMacs used a slightly different install cd, sometimes referred to as
the "Borg" version. Those install cd's only worked on the iMacs. I used to
own one. The iMacs used the system software differently when it loaded as
compared to anything else in the Mac arsenal. So those OS 8.6 install disks
were modified to work with the iMac's rom. Other computers won't let you
install the system from them, although you could still install such things
as Appleworks from them.
